Publisher Resource Specialist

BOKU is a well-funded, fast growing San Francisco startup operating at the crossroads of web (virtual goods) and mobile payments. We're looking for highly skilled individuals with a passion for creating and delivering products and services that will change the lives of millions of tomorrow's mobile users. We help online game publishers earn more revenue by allowing their customers to Pay By Mobile. We operate in 60 countries and we’re growing fast.

We need your help! We’re looking for smart, creative technical analysts.

Overview of position:
• Help publishers integrate: We help publishers deploy our mobile payment solution by answering questions about our product, documentation, and publisher portal.
• Respond to publisher technical questions: we provide first-line publisher technical support
• Troubleshoot the product: If users in Canada can’t buy Godfather points with BOKU, we start gathering statistics to help resolve the problem. We work with our engineers and publishers by checking trends and testing different variables to track down what needs fixing.
• Collaborate with the team: Share your ideas and offer feedback. If you notice publishers often running into the same types of problems, discuss possible solutions with the product team so that publisher tools can be optimized for efficient usage.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Timely response to publisher integration and technical support requirements
• Using established protocols, create service request tickets in the appropriate system as well as manage and follow-up on publisher-facing incidents.
• Coordinate communication of bugs details and fixes between publishers and our internal engineering team.
• Monitor traffic and analyze data to proactively assess possible integration issues and/or whether further engineering assistance is needed.
• Assist with testing of publisher portal and suggest enhancements/features for future version releases.
• Be self-motivated to read technical documentation to better understand the role of the publisher.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of processes and publisher knowledge base.
• Diagnose and determine causes of fulfillment failures.
• Prioritize and stay focused on projects even in an environment where product priorities may be changing frequently.
• Infrequent travel to provide technical integration assistance may be necessary from time to time.
• Once trained, the Publisher Resource Specialist will be asked to work non-standard hours in order to build broader time-zone coverage for first line support.

Key skills:
• Analysis: Frequent data retrieval and inspection is required to hunt down the source of a problem. Therefore, you should understand database structure and be able to construct SQL queries.
• Problem-solving: When our publishers have a problem, you use your resources to their full potential. For tech problems, you may need to check the publishers' configuration, dive into log files, and test with different browsers. We face new challenges every day so we place a premium on getting to the right answer as fast as we can.
• Technical: You’re comfortable with web and mobile technology. You'll learn our API specifications and hold your own in technical conversation with publishers’ coders/developers and our engineering team. No programming background is needed, but some understanding of coding would be ideal.
• Communication: Be able to articulate clear advice and instructions to help support our publishers. Also, you’ll work with sales reps, programmers, ops teams, finance/billing types, and lawyers, so you’ll need to be a good listener, quick learner, and versatile communicator.

We’re looking for a quick-learner with 4+ years of experience, excellent qualifications, and strong problem-solving skills.
