Korean merchants expand globally with local payment methods.

Korean mobile app Weverse, home to major K-Pop artists BTS & BLACKPINK specialising in multimedia content, artist-to-fan communications and merchandise, now has access to the fast-growing Latin American region, through local payment connections on the Boku platform.

Toss Payments, a Korean merchant services platform which allows merchants to accept payments online and manage their business finances on a single platform,  partnered with Boku to be its global payment service provider to offer alternative payment methods to Toss merchants, such as Weverse in Brazil. Weverse can now benefit from the use of the Latin American wallet, Mercado Pago.

In a culturally diverse world, this combined partnership enables consumers in Latin America to access the full Korean multimedia catalogue that Weverse has to offer. With mobile wallet usage set to exceed in excess of 60% of the world’s population by 2025 it is critical for global businesses to capitalise on their local payment method strategy.
