Letter From Boku CEO, Jon Prideaux

From billing to identity: Boku is forging a new era of carrier powered mobile commerce

For the last 10 years, Boku has helped our merchant clients acquire new paying users by connecting them to the power of carrier billing and carrier bundling. But more recently, Boku has begun developing ways to help merchants authenticate and qualify their users by connecting them to the power of carrier based mobile identity. The customer reactions to these capabilities have been overwhelmingly positive providing more evidence that the world’s mobile operators, whose reach exceeds 4B users, offers a powerful if not fully realized potential that is simply unmatched.

Boku intends to seize this opportunity and transform the face of mobile commerce.

I am very pleased to share the news that Boku has acquired Danal Inc. They are the best of breed in mobile identity and authentication with customers like Western Union, BNP Paribas, PayPal, Square, Uber, Nextdoor and Moneygram and partners like Experian, Fiserv, Neustar and TransUnion who have built a great business in North America and Europe. Together we believe that we can build out their offerings to global scale.

As separate companies, we shared a vision to build mobile identity into a global offering and we have, in many ways, largely complementary organizations. We’re truly excited that our newly combined organization will be able to operate at much greater scale and to develop an even more sophisticated and secure identity platform.

Welcome to the future home of Boku Identity.
